Soft Skills programmes from Extralearn are a suite of 8
work-related qualifications (Professional Awards) devised by ExtraLearn under
approval from the SQA - Scottish Qualifications Authority (subject of
validation / approval). These Awards focus on teaching a range of soft
skills indispensable for work life success which helps an individual gain and
retain a job.
With Extralearn’s guidance, one can choose Awards by
identifying the skill gaps or add value to existing qualifications through
building on existing skill sets. Pursuing an Award is highly flexible – a
learner has the option of taking Award Units at a pace that suits the learner.

Programme Highlights
- Choice of 8 Professional Awards - take as many as you want
- Qualification is termed as “Professional Award”
- Total 8 awards available
- Each Professional Award consists of 5 Component Units
- Each unit is for 10 Guided Learning Hours. This mean a classroom lecture scenario of 4 - 5 hours and the rest is for self-study including; assignments, group interactions, coursework.
- Learners must register for the full Award. Individual Unit registration is not allowed (unless customised for large institutions)
- Assessments are based on assignments for each 'Learning Objective' or external examinations, or a combination of both
- Component Unit grading consists of 'Pass' or 'Fail'
- All assignments are managed through ExtraBack - ePortfolio system. Learners receive online feedback
- Flexible learning – a learner may complete a programme in a flexible manner at his / her own pace.
- Emphasis on experiential learning
- End of course assessment with grading as “Pass” / “Fail”
- Assessment is using a combination of coursework, practical demonstration, interaction and written test
